Liked that the decor was well thought out and not just “fake-deep” Nigerian + there was classic Nigerian music playing too. Ordered amala and it came in good time. Enjoyed it but there’s a certain razzmattaz per the spiciness that was missing from the stew [I’m guessing it’s because they’re catering to a new and wider audience here in Canada so that’s fine].

Went there for dinner and ordered Ogbonno Soup with Fufu (Goat Combo). It was so delicious! The food was fresh and the portions were appropriate for the price. The restaurant itself was clean and had such a cute aesthetic. I would definetly recommend Detola’s Kitchen!

Flavourful and delicious food, just a bit too oily for my liking. Jollof rice had a good fiery kick. Beef was lean and tender. Chicken was tasty. Plantains were soft and sweet. Coleslaw was nice and tangy. Restaurant looks new. It's brightly lit and clean. Service was pleasant. I got the Ajebutter Chicken and Beef Combos. Looking forward to trying other items, like the Moi Moi.

First time trying Nigerian food and it was really good! Jollof rice and the meats were seasoned perfectly and the spice kick was just right. My favourite though was the plantains which were sweet and not greasy. The egusi and fufu combo were yum too. Overall - friendly staff, clean and spacious restaurant and reasonably priced. The only downside is it took around one hr and 10 mins for our food to be prepared and served. The homemade quality and taste of the food made up for it, but still quite a long wait time. Great experience otherwise. Will be coming back!

The portions were huge and the food was delicious. Had the whiting with jollof rice and plantain, my friend had a meat pie and goat. We both walked out of there totally stuffed and with doggy bags in hand. I also tried a fermented millet drink - kunu zaki- which was like nothing I had ever tried before- and bought another to bring home, it was so good. The puff puffs are reminiscent of a superior home made old fashioned Timbits.

We tried the pounded yam with Egusi and some Meat pies, puff puff and sausage rolls. All the food tasted great, service was great as well. We ordered over the phone and received a call when the order was ready. The location was easy to find and the restaurant itself was clean and nicely decorated. Will definitely be returning!

Had an absolute good time here trying out the Nigerian food. Spicy lovers, come on down. If you’re opting for the combo, the sides are on the smaller portion. So if you want more, should order them separately.
